Stanford Soccer Club
Game Field Use Rules &
Procedures
- Times
& field assignments for home games are the responsibility of the club
referee and field coordinator, a rotating club volunteer position.
- In
spring, it is the responsibility of all teams to contact the opposing
team’s manager PRIOR to making any request for home fields, in order to
confirm the opposing team’s ability to play the game on the day you have
in mind or is on the published schedule.
- Only
after you have confirmed the dates of play with the opposing team (in
Spring), submit a list of your home games, the dates on which you want
them scheduled, and any other constraints, to the referee and field
coordinator by e-mail. The deadline for doing this is generally 10 days
before the start of the season, but will be announced each season.
- The
referee and field coordinator will schedule the times and fields and will
then publish a list of all home game information and circulate it via
e-mail to the club.
- Changes
in game day or time will not be permitted once the referee and
field coordinator has released the schedule, and you should make this
clear to the opposing team when you set up the date. Any team that needs
to change the time or day after this point, other than due to a rain field
closure, shall pay a $50 fee to the club and will be responsible for
arranging its own referees and linespersons. The referee and field coordinator will assign you an
available time slot.
- To
avoid confusion and imposing on our club volunteers, only one person from
each team should be communicating with club volunteers (registrar,
referee/field coordinator, etc.)
- Any
team found to have violated the field closure policy of the City of Palo
Alto shall be fined $500 (the same fee charged to the club by the City) and
shall move to the bottom of the team field priority/seniority list. If the
City opts not to fine the club, the team fine shall be $100 and being
moved to the bottom of the team field priority list.
